    Maybe it could be random, but if it has fortune then that could be enough, the crafting recipe (in my opinion) could be either four glass shards at any corner like a square or 9 shards filling he entire table?

    I think the glass shards from t1 should come back to t2, it takes forever to mine glass just for nothing, so glass shards could fill that empty void with atleast giving the player a little reward back.
